My room was just off the highway and the traffic made it impossible to sleep.
It was sooo nice. The staff made it feel like a home.. Warm, comfortable, and cozy, we will be back !!
The staff was very friendly and helpful with any of our questions.
I was very dissatisfied when I needed to modify the time of my stay and was told the rate I would be charged but then was charged a higher rate. That's not how I do business. I will not do business at the howard johnson again!
My husband is a leg amputee and this hotel is one of the best set ups for disabled travellers we have stayed in. Also the beds were so comfortable you did not want to get out of them
Comfy accomodations, very friendly staff. Would stay again
The people were nice
I booked our room back in July because I knew they would be sold out because of Octoberfest. When we arrived Saturday afternoon to check in we were given a room with 2 queen beds, and I booked a king room. So the lady at the front desk said she didn't know how the rooms got taken but found us a king room that they had that the bed mattress and boxsprings were on the floor because the frame had broken. Since my husband is a big tall person we took that room but got no discount or anything because of it! I will not recommend anyone to the Howard Johnson anymore! Thank you! Eileen Sanders Stayed on Octo 6th, 2012.
The location was great.
The water when we showered was luke warm at best.
had a great room and very quite.not to meany people during are stay that was great had the top floor to are selfs
the pool was closed.
The reception staff were nice and friendly. The hotel was easy walking distance to the Main Street.
Our bed! It was just 2 mattresses on the floor which we thought was a bit unusual. Did the other rooms have proper beds???
The only down side was the pool being closed early in the season due to frogs taking over.
It was close to the shopping and a reasonable price.
Fantastic sitting porch with view. Fantastic portrait of Tx Rangers behind reception counter. Staff VERY courteous and made place feel homey. When a loose lid caused a pitcher of milk to be spilled during breakfast, it was cleaned up by staff with a prompt smile. Fun, Texas-shaped waffles were a big hit! Great bed, sheets, and pillows provided extra comfort. Plan to return when in Fredericksburg.
Bugs and frogs beneath lights in pool area. Especially at night they were crawling on us when we were not in pool. But it is Texas and it sits beside an unimproved pasture. Also, pool area needs to have rails repaired and basic revamping of deck area.
Room was nice and clean
The a/c wasn't working when we arrived to the room. The outside temp was 102 and the a/c was facing the west. Called the desk and she had to bring us a fan. It helped a little but was still not cool enough. Other than that, I would stay again. The reservation online said the room was to have a small fridge and microwave. The room did not, called the desk and she said some rooms have them and some don'T. So you might want to check into that
It was a last minute reservation to a very busy weekend destination. The hotel still had rooms available and at a very reasonable price considering the rates of some of the other not as reputable hotels. The room was very nice, with lots of space and a clean bathroom, which was very important. Not to mention...... Location, location, location. It was right on the main street which was easy to find on our way into town as well as, a little later after a wine country evening. We were very pleased with our stay and will definitly book it again.
